Alice W. SchwarzJoin museum educator Alice W. Schwarz for a free lecture exploring the 19th century painting Washington Crossing the Delaware, created by German-American artist Emanuel Leutze.

This lecture will be held on Sunday, May 19 at 2 PM in the Washington Crossing Historic Park Visitor Center.

Registration opens April 1. Please call the park at (215) 493-4076 to register.

Schwarz will discuss Leutze’s artistic process and the choices he made in creating what is now the most iconic image of the American War of Independence. Schwarz was a museum educator at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, which currently houses the Washington Crossing the Delaware painting.
