Thompson-Neely House Encampment Tour 2024
December 7 @ 1:45 pm - 4:45 pm
General George Washington’s crossing of the Delaware River invokes memories of the Continental Army struggling for its survival through the harsh winter weather, poor shelter, and scant clothing. Come join us on Saturday, December 7, 2024 as our living historians take you back in time to experience the reality of the encampment at the Thompson-Neely farm on which several regiments of the Continental army were quartered. This immersive experience will put you in the midst of what daily life was like for the soldiers, how they lived, what they ate, and most importantly how they survived the conditions before they went on to win at Trenton.
This year visitors will also have an opportunity to tour the newly opened Thompson Neely House and get a first look at new exhibits that illustrate the history of the role of the house during Washington’s encampment in December 1776, before the Christmas Night Crossing on December 25th. Two tour times will be offered from 1:45 PM – 2:45 PM and 3:45 PM – 4:45 PM.
The cost is $10 per person, register here.
