On Saturday, November 4 at 1:30 PM, commemorate the Marine Corps birthday with Jason Q. Bohm (Maj. Gen. USMC) as he discusses his book on the founding and early years of the corps. Lecture – Who Was Here?
The American Revolution was fought by a diverse group of people covering all ranks of society. From privates to generals, and those who supported the army, many of these patriot's stories have gone untold. On Sunday, December 3 at 7 PM, join museum curator Kimberly McCarty as she highlights some of the individuals who participated in Washington's legendary crossing of the Delaware on December 25, 1776. Each December, thousands of people gather on the banks of the Delaware River to watch the reenactment of George Washington’s daring 1776 Christmas night river crossing. During the event, several hundred reenactors in Continental military dress listen to an inspiring speech by General Washington and then row across the river in replica Durham boats. The first opportunity to witness the reenactment is Sunday, December 10, from 11 AM to 3 PM in the Washington Crossing Historic Park’s Historic Village. The actual crossing begins at approximately 1 PM.
