DESCRIPTION:Celebrate Independence Day by bringing the whole family back in time — to July 4\, 1776!\nJoin us at Washington Crossing Historic Park on Saturday\, July 4\, 2026\, from 4 PM – 9:30 PM for an evening of history\, community celebration\, live music\, and fireworks over the Delaware River as we celebrate the 250th anniversary of our nation’s founding! \nPlease note: Admission is required; registration is recommended only for the 4–8 PM Living History Program. The evening concert and fireworks are free and open to the public; no registration is required to attend those portions of the event.  Guests are welcome to bring blankets and lawn chairs\, but if you choose to set them up while attending daytime activities\, please note that we cannot be responsible for lost\, stolen\, or unattended items. \nStep into Revolutionary America as you explore a military encampment\, watch living historians demonstrate traditional crafts\, participate in children’s activities and experience musket and artillery firing demonstrations. Readings of the Declaration of Independence will take place throughout the evening. As the living history program concludes\, visitors are invited to enjoy live music along the waterfront\, including a special fife and drum performance. \nThe celebration will conclude with a festive fireworks display over the Delaware River (weather permitting). Food trucks will be on site throughout the evening\, offering food\, snacks\, and refreshments. Vendors include Rita’s Italian Ice\, Nomad Pizza\, Olde City Kettle Corn\, El Sabor Del Bajio\,and The Tot Rod. \nThe Friends of Washington Crossing Park will operate a concession stand serving Dietz & Watson hot dogs\, chips\, and beverages. All proceeds support educational programming at the park. \nVisitors can make it a full day beginning with panoramic views across the Delaware River Valley at Bowman’s Hill Tower\, where admission is included with your Living History ticket. Early arrivals can join the free Our Nation’s Symbol: Bald Eagles program from 1:00–3:00 PM. DESCRIPTION:The Rebels & Redcoats Classic Car Show is held annually\, typically on Independence Day weekend\, at Washington Crossing Historic Park in Pennsylvania. This year\, due to the 250th celebrations\, the show will take place the weekend following July 4th. Please note that the show has a rain date this year of July 19th 2026. Please keep an eye on the email address you enter at registration\, as we will send you an email if the show date will be moved. \nTime: 10 AM – 2 PM\nLocation: The Valley of Concentration parking lot across the street from the Washington Crossing Historic Park Visitor Center\, 1112 River Road\, Washington Crossing\, PA 18977. \nFor spectators:\nWe invite you to join us for an exciting day of cool\, classic cars! This unique show features show-condition cars from model years 2000 and earlier that are American\, French\, British and German\, representing the four belligerents of the Revolutionary War. There will also be an open class for cars of any make\, model\, and year. \nOlde City Kettle Corn\, Rita’s Italian Ice and other vendors will be on-site. \nEntry to the car show is FREE for spectators! \nFor car owners:\nShow-condition cars from model years 2001 and earlier and which are from a manufacturer based in one of the primary belligerents of the American revolution (US\, Britain\, Germany and France) are welcome in the standard class. Vehicles which are newer than model year 2001\, and/or are from a manufacturer not based in one of the primary belligerents of the American revolution can be registered for the open class.  Advance registration is $25 (plus service fee) per car and $35 at the gate (space permitting). DESCRIPTION:The Washington Crossing Historic Park Book Club invites history enthusiasts to explore the American Revolution through engaging discussion and carefully selected readings. Led by the park’s Museum Curator\, Kimberly McCarty\, the club meets virtually via Zoom and focuses on books that shed new light on the Revolutionary era\, with special emphasis on the events surrounding the Delaware River crossing and the 1776 campaign. Free and open to all\, meetings typically take place on the third Monday of each month and provide an opportunity to connect with fellow readers while deepening your understanding of this pivotal period in American history. \nRunning from Bondage tells the compelling stories of enslaved women\, who comprised one-third of all runaways\, and the ways in which they fled or attempted to flee bondage during and after the Revolutionary War. Karen Cook Bell’s enlightening and original contribution to the study of slave resistance in eighteenth-century America explores the individual and collective lives of these women and girls of diverse circumstances\, while also providing details about what led them to escape. She demonstrates that there were in fact two wars being waged during the Revolutionary Era: a political revolution for independence from Great Britain and a social revolution for emancipation and equality in which Black women played an active role. DESCRIPTION:Join Washington Crossing Historic Park’s Historical Horticulturist\, Anna Davis\, for a guided walk through the working garden that supports the park’s interpretation of colonial life. \nDuring this 45-minute tour\, visitors will explore the seasonal herbs\, vegetables\, flowers\, and dye plants that would have been commonly grown in American kitchen gardens of the 1700s. Learn how these plants were used for food\, textiles\, and everyday remedies while discovering how historians and gardeners reconstruct historic landscapes using period sources. \nAlong the way\, Anna will share stories about early American gardening practices\, heirloom plant varieties\, and the role gardens played in the daily life of families living along the Delaware River during the Revolutionary era.\nThis tour is part of Farmstead Friday programming and offers a behind-the-scenes look at the research\, cultivation\, and care that bring this historic garden to life. \n
