2018 Independence Day Activities

Celebrate America’s independence at one of the sites where it was secured!

Reading the Declaration of Independence at Washington Crossing Historic Park

Sunday, July 1: Rebels vs. Redcoats: A Revolutionary Car Show will be held from noon to 4 PM in the large field diagonal to the park’s Visitor Center and across River Road. Attendance is free for the public. Registration for car owners is $20 and will be open until June 30. On-site registration will not be permitted.

Monday, July 2: Bring the family to the park for a free tourof the Historic Village or the Thompson-Neely House and Grist Mill, or get free admission to Bowman’s Hill Tower. Tours will run from 10 AM until 5 PM. At 6 PM, the 78th Army Band, United States Army Reserve, based at Fort Dix, NJ, will perform a free public concert in the large field across the street and diagonal from the Visitor Center.

Tuesday, July 3: The Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) will lead kayaking on the lagoonat 10 AM and 12:30 PM and a free family bike ride at 11 AM. Registration is required for all July 3 activities.

Wednesday, July 4: Step back in time for Independence Day! Tour historic buildings and watch living historians and re-enactors demonstrate their skills in the Historic Village from noon to 4 PM. The Declaration of Independence will be read once an hour starting at 12:30 PM. Admission is $8 for adults age 12 and over, $4 for children ages 5-11, and free for those under 5. This event will be held rain or shine.
