History in the Making
Eleven historic buildings and numerous modern-day structures at Washington Crossing Historic Park (PA) are currently undergoing a major rehabilitation thanks to $8.7 million from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. The project kicked off in May 2021 and will take about a year and a half to complete.
During the construction, affected buildings and sites have been cordoned off by fences. The “History in the Making” initiative aims to make the fences more aesthetically pleasing through the use of beautiful mesh banners while raising funds for the Friends of Washington Crossing Park to benefit the following goals:
1. Increase education throughout the park,
2. Increase the number of exhibits at the park
3. Improve the internal structures of the buildings, which are not covered under the Capital Project
Each banner will depict scenes from the park and history. These will be displayed on the fencing from December 2021 – May 2022. Businesses and families can purchase a banner or multiple banners and put their logo or family name on the banner to show support for the community, the park, promote their business or create a unique holiday gift.
