“An Afternoon with Martha Washington” as portrayed by Alisa Dupuy of The Ladies of History

Alisa Dupuy has been portraying Martha Dandridge Custis Washington as she was during the American Revolution since 2009 and has performed this character for hundreds of people. Her solo performance delves into Martha’s life growing up, her first marriage, her children, her meeting and marriage with George, and their trials and tribulations during the war. She provides a look at what it was like to be the first “First Couple” and reflects on the end of their lives together.
