Independence Day Celebration
Friends of Washington Crossing Park will host three major community-wide celebrations in 2026, creating spaces where local residents can come together to enjoy this once-in-a-lifetime Semiquincentennial celebration. These events include an enhanced Independence Day Celebration and two December Crossing Reenactments, extending the excitement and commemorative spirit through the end of the year.
For 2026, our annual Independence Day Celebration will be significantly expanded. The day will include more immersive, student-centered activities designed to deepen understanding of civic values and the principles of the Declaration of Independence. Visitors can look forward to dramatic readings, critical-thinking challenges, and immersive storytelling experiences throughout the day.
We’re also planning to bring back a large-scale fireworks display, reminiscent of our popular shows from 2016-2018, offering a spectacular finale to a day filled with educational and historical engagement.
