Christmas Day Crossing Reenactment

December 25 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Free

Join fellow patriots on the banks of the Delaware River to watch the 66th annual reenactment of George Washington’s daring 1776 Christmas night river crossing. During the event, several hundred reenactors in Continental military dress listen to an inspiring speech by General Washington and then row across the river in replica Durham boats.

The reenactment is set for Tuesday, December 25, 2018. The crossing will begin at 1:00 PM, but early arrival is strongly recommended in order to get a good spot on the viewing line. Admission is free!

Watch a live-stream of the Christmas Day crossing on YouTube.

A limited number of VIP Patriot Passes are on sale for both Crossing reenactments. Each Patriot Pass grants you admission, a seat in an enclosed tent with great views of the Delaware River, and light refreshments. Cost is $65 for one or $120 for two people, and you can purchase by calling the Visitor Center at 215-493-4076. All guests in the tent must be 21 or older.

River crossings are contingent upon safe conditions for participants. However, even if conditions do not allow for crossing, ceremonies, speeches and commemorative activities still occur.

Washington Crossing Historic Park is located at the intersection of Routes 532 and 32 (River Road) in Washington Crossing, Pennsylvania. Directions can be found here. Parking will be clearly marked.
