Last Bird Walk of the Spring!
Mornings are your best opportunity to experience the thrilling world of birdwatching and listening! On Friday, June 9 from 9 to 11 AM, join the park naturalist for a slowly guided walk as we look and listen for migratory avian friends. Topics such as basic bird identification through sound and sight will be discussed. Binoculars can be available upon request, but participants are strongly encouraged to bring their own. Do you have an interest in learning to kayak? Have you wanted to learn how to kayak but haven’t had this chance? Here is your opportunity! On Saturday, June 10 from noon to 2 PM, team up with the Park Naturalist at Washington Crossing Historic Park for an easy and stress free day on the calm waters of the Delaware Canal. Let's see what we can catch in the creek! Historic Pidcock Creek was and is still the main source of power for the Thompson-Neely Grist Mill. On Saturday, June 17 from 11 AM to 12:30 PM, grab your stream shoes and team up with the Park Naturalist for a morning of watershed education! Help identify the aquatic insects and other creatures that live within the creek. Nets will be provided, but you can bring your own! Water shoes must be worn at all times. Hiking is a great way to improve your physical and mental health! On Wednesday, June 21 at 6 PM, join the park naturalist for a quickly paced 2 mile hike along the trails of WCHP. Please keep in mind that these hikes are intended to maintain a quick hiking pace. Prepare yourself for the day by bringing a full water bottle, wearing sturdy shoes, and dressing for the weather!
