If you would like to be put on the waitlist, please email mtruesdale@pa.gov  On Saturday, August 13 from noon - 3 PM, team up with the Park Naturalist for a fun float in a kayak down the Delaware River! After an on-land strategy and safety session, participants will launch from the northern most point of Washington Crossing Historic Park and kayak 5 miles to the Visitor Center. Bark in the Park

Take a walk in the park with your favorite patriotic pup! On Saturday, August 20, throw a leash on your four-legged friend and join us for a mile-long group walk through Washington Crossing Historic Park. Walks are scheduled for 10 AM and noon. All dogs will receive a complimentary tricorn hat. Owners will also be able to meet with representatives from Bucks County Treasurer’s office, who will provide information about dog licenses. Healthy Hike

Hiking is a great way to improve your physical and mental health! On Friday, September 2, wake up early and join the Park Naturalist for a quickly paced 2 mile hike along the trails of WCHP from 10 to 11:30 AM. Please keep in mind that these hikes are intended to maintain a quick hiking pace. Prepare yourself for the day by bringing a full water bottle, wearing sturdy shoes, and dressing for the weather! The Monarch Butterfly is arguably one of the most interesting insect species in North America.  This butterfly is the only species of butterfly to make a two-way migration, similar to birds, in order to survive as a species.  Many of these butterflies travel 3,000 miles to their over wintering destination in Central Mexico. Monarch butterfly populations have been dwindling over the past 3 decades and are currently below the extinction threshold.  This is a result of pesticides, urban sprawl, a loss of basic resources, and the continued illegal logging of overwintering forest land.
