Celebrate America's 250th Anniversary in Historic Newtown during Newtown Celebrates America 250 on Saturday, August 8, 2026. This free community celebration features Revolutionary War reenactments, living historians, military drills for children, colonial crafts, historic site tours, museum exhibits, demonstrations, and family activities throughout Newtown's walkable historic district. After making its Washington Crossing debut during our Independence Day Celebration, the full-scale Durham boat replica has remained in the Boat Barn, where the Independence Seaport Museum (ISM) team continues its work.
