In preparation for the park’s 250th anniversary in 2026, the Friends of Washington Crossing Park is excited to welcome Samantha Allison as its Civilian Programs Coordinator. In this role, she will develop and oversee educational programs that highlight the essential contributions of non-combatants during the American Revolution.
Through her work, Samantha will bring to life the diverse stories of civilians who supported the fight for independence beyond the battlefield, helping visitors connect more deeply with their experiences.
Samantha Allison is an independent researcher and historical interpreter with over 30 years of experience in reenacting. She is dedicated to uncovering and sharing the stories of the diverse communities that supported the Continental forces during the American Revolution.
Samantha has served as a historical consultant on several film projects, offering her expertise on the roles of women associated with the Continental Line. Her credits include The Loyalist (2019), projects produced by the National Park Service, and the upcoming Ken Burns documentary series, The American Revolution (2025).
She is also the founder of On the Army’s Strength, a civilian-based group that provides a supportive network for individuals committed to recreating the many roles that contributed to the war effort.
When she isn’t immersed in her passion for history, Samantha enjoys spending time with her husband and their four children.
