This year, we are pleased to welcome Bucks County artist Keith Mountford as a resident artist in the Taylorsville General Store. The store will feature and sell Keith’s artwork throughout the season, with a portion of all proceeds benefiting the Friends of Washington Crossing Park. Visitors can find him Tuesday to Saturday from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm, January 6 through Saturday, March 22.
Known for his distinctive style of “watercolor realism,” Keith creates finely detailed landscapes and architectural scenes that capture mood, atmosphere, and a deep sense of place. Through careful layering and a restrained color palette, his work brings out the quiet beauty of historic and natural settings, many of them right here in Bucks County.
Originally from Staffordshire, England, Keith relocated to the United States in 1993 and rediscovered a long-dormant creative passion inspired by his new surroundings. His journey has not been without challenges; following a serious health diagnosis in 2003, Keith immersed himself in his art, drawing strength from his craft and the support of his family. Since then, his work has been collected by a loyal following and is held in private and corporate collections locally, nationally, and internationally.
During the pandemic, Keith reconnected with the landscapes close to home, including Washington Crossing Historic Park, which became the subject of one of his most meaningful works. Inspired by bike rides along the Delaware Canal and towpath, he devoted months to painting the Hibbs House garden, a piece he later donated to the Friends of Washington Crossing Park to help raise awareness of preservation efforts. Visitors are invited to meet Keith, view his work, and learn more about his creative process during his January residency. Stay tuned for dates and details.
Keith will be selling original watercolors along with high-quality prints, making it easy for visitors to find a piece they love at a range of price points. We encourage you to stop by!
