Reopening of the Taylorsville General Store

To ensure our site is equipped to meet visitor needs in 2026 and beyond, the Friends of Washington Crossing Park have invested in reopening the Taylorsville General Store, formerly home to our Patriot Gift Shop.
This 19th‑century building, part of the historic merchant town of Taylorsville, was originally opened by Mahlon Taylor in 1828, just before the Delaware Canal was constructed.
In 2025-2026, the Taylorsville store will host two “Attic Treasures” sales in conjunction with McConkey’s Market.
Beginning in 2026, the space will be converted into a permanent artisan shop featuring local artisan gifts, souvenirs, and refreshments, giving visitors the opportunity to extend their park visit with a light meal and take home a tangible piece of the Park and region.
This year, we were also pleased to welcome Bucks County artist Keith Mountford as a resident artist in the Taylorsville General Store. The space featured and sold Keith’s artwork this spring, with a portion of all proceeds benefiting the Friends of Washington Crossing Park. Keith offered original watercolors alongside high-quality prints, allowing visitors to find pieces they loved at a variety of price points.
