During this program participants will have the opportunity to learn all about the Owls that call Pennsylvania home. After a short talk about owls and their adaptations we will venture into the dark of night in an attempt to communicate with any local owls that may be nearby. This program is free and open to anyone to attend. Please be mindful that this program requires patience and minimal participant noise. Hiking is a great way to improve your physical and mental health! Join the park naturalist for a quickly paced 2 mile hike along the trails of WCHP. Please keep in mind that these hikes are intended to maintain a quick hiking pace. Prepare yourself for the day by bringing a full water bottle, wearing sturdy shoes, and dressing for the weather! There is a new trail open at Washington Crossing! Let’s go hike it! Join the naturalist for a 1.17 mile hike along the new Pidcock Trail. Please note that this trail is a medium/hard trail and not for beginner hikers. Throughout this trail you can expect to travel over large boulders and roots while encountering steep slopes. Join us for a festive afternoon of wreath and swag making on Saturday, November 30 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM in the Riverview Room at the Lower Park Visitors Center. Led by longtime volunteer Anita Cooke and administrative assistant Michelle Flanagan, this hands-on workshop will help you craft a special holiday decoration. Each participant will receive one natural grapevine wreath frame, a variety of fresh greens, and some decorations to get started.
