“WET in the City” Educator Workshop

November 4, 2017 @ 9:00 am - 3:00 pm

Free

Area teachers are invited to earn Act 48 credits at a free one-day workshop featuring the “WET in the City” curriculum.

WET in the City is an extension of Project WET (Water Education for Teachers), whose mission is to reach people with action-oriented education about water and its management. WET in the City engages students K-12 in hands-on activities that creatively explore the science of water, its cultural context, and complex issues surrounding its management and stewardship, with a focus on the urban environment.

These activities can be integrated or adapted within both formal and non-formal educational curricula, settings, time frames and/or audiences.

Attendees will receive the WET in the City curriculum guide and other materials. Activities will be geared toward grades 6-12, but elementary educators are welcome to attend as well.

Registration is required before November 1. To register, email Katie Scott at katscott@pa.gov.
