Hiking is a great way to improve your physical and mental health! On Friday, February 18 from 10 – 11:30 AM, join the park naturalist for a quickly paced 2.5 mile hike along the trails of WCHP. Please keep in mind that these hikes are intended to maintain a quick hiking pace. Prepare yourself for the day by bringing a full water bottle, wearing sturdy shoes, and dressing for the weather! February Book Club: Surviving the Winters

The February 2022 meeting of the Washington Crossing Historic Park Book Club is set for Tuesday, February 22 at 5:30 PM. This meeting will be held virtually using Zoom. Registration is required. Museum curator Kimberly McCarty will continue the club's discussion of Surviving the Winters: Housing Washington’s Army During the American Revolution by Steven Elliott. Participants should be prepared to discuss chapters six and seven. Book club meetings are free and open to all. Members should provide their own books.

Fly Tying Basics: A Workshop Program Series

Learn the art of tying fishing flies and discover stream ecology! Catching a fish on a hand tied fly that you tied can be an extremely rewarding experience! Join the Park Naturalist for basic fly tying instruction and some watershed education, every Wednesday evening in February from 6:00pm - 7:30pm. Participants will hone and develop fly tying skills through weekly hands on instruction and will tie flies to take home! Are you interested in helping or learning more about birds that inhabit WCHP? Become a Bird Box Volunteer and make a positive impact in your environmental community! As a bird box volunteer, you will be part of the PA State Park Cavity Nesting Program team, whose aim is to provide habitat for declining cavity-nesting populations. Species of interest that you will help to monitor include Eastern Bluebirds, Black-capped Chickadees, Tree Swallows, and House Wrens. Kiwanis Club Easter Egg Hunt

The Kiwanis Club of Washington Crossing will host a free Easter Egg Hunt for the community on Saturday, April 2 at 10 AM across from the park's Visitor Center.
