September Book Club: Never Caught: The Washingtons’ Relentless Pursuit of their Runaway Slave, Ona Judge

In partnership with the Friends of Washington Crossing Park the next meeting of the Washington Crossing Historic Park Book Club is set for Monday, September 16 at 5:30 PM. This meeting will be held virtually using Zoom. Museum Curator Kimberly McCarty will lead a discussion of the book club’s next selection: Never Caught:  The Washingtons’ Relentless Pursuit of their Runaway Slave, Ona Judge by Erica Armstrong Dunbar.  Please read Chapters 5-7. Book club meetings are free and open to all. Members should provide their own books.

Join us for a series of Living History programs that we will be conducting in the park on Fridays in April - June, and then Fridays and Saturdays in July - September. These programs will cover a variety of of topics surrounding the life of Soldiers and civilians during the American Revolution. Demonstrations will take place at 12:30, 1:30 and 2:30pm. Reenactors and demonstrators will discuss the topic/activity they are portraying while also providing context for how this would effect life during the American Revolution.

This tour lasts about 1 hour and covers the conditions and history of the crossing, as well as the three battles that follow it, the battles of Trenton and the Battle of Princeton.
