Let’s do some good for nature! Team up with the Park Naturalist and help tackle pollution and unnecessary debris from the park’s landscape. Our goal will be to remove as much litter in the main park area. All volunteers will receive a Conservation Volunteer hat and/or t-shirt! How awesome!! Mornings are your best opportunity to experience the thrilling world of birdwatching and listening! Join the Park Naturalist for a slowly guided walk as we look and listen for migratory avian friends. Topics such as basic bird identification through sound and sight will be discussed. Binoculars can be available upon request, but participants are strongly encouraged to bring their own. Washington Crossing Historic Park sits in a unique bird habitat crossroads.   Do you have a young nature lover in your family who’s curious to learn more about the natural environment? Join the Park Naturalist for a morning of growing up on the wild side! These programs are designed for toddlers ages 3-7 and build on children’s sense of wonder about nature, inviting them to explore wildlife and the world around them. Each Nature for Toddlers program will feature a different topic, April is: Bluebird Bonanza! Learn all about Eastern Bluebirds and make a take home house. On Saturday, April 26 from 10 AM to 4 PM, watch as the Thompson-Neely sheep are shorn of their wool and tour the grist mill at this family friendly event. This limited event will include a trip to the barn for a hand shearing presentation as well as period demonstrations and tours of our historic Grist Mill.   Partner up with the Park Naturalist for an evening of trout fishing along the Delaware Canal! Learn about the different species of trout that live in PA, how to tie fishing knots, bait a hook, cast a spin fishing rod, and more! Space is limited and registration is required.
